Sultan Bahadar Aziz

Sultan Bahadar Aziz is 10th Descendant of great Sufi Saint Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo. He remained under spiritual tutelage of his father Hadhrat Sultan Muhammad Asghar Ali (a great Sufi and spiritual personality & 6th Sultan ul Faqr ) and now he successfully upholds rich legacy of his elders and keenly pursues their mission. He actively participates in organizational activities as well as spiritual gatherings organised by Islahee Jamaat & Aalmi Tanzeem ul Arifeen. In addition, he also contributes in the monthly magazine Mirrat ul Arifeen as well as in different activities of MUSLIM Institute. Promotion of cultural actives in Pakistan has been his keen interest. Under MUSLIM Institute, he has been vigorously involved in cultural activities like Sufi Musical evenings for promotion of Sufi message through their literary contributions.

Upholding the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) as well as tradition of his forefathers, Sultan Bahadar Aziz keeps best quality horses. He maintains one of the largest stables in Pakistan. His stable is frequented by horse lovers from across the globe. He is Leading Rider of M.H Sultania Awan Horse Tent Pegging Club and leads its teams in tent pegging and horse dancing competitions inside the country as well as abroad and has won numerous individual and team accolades. He has the honour of representing Pakistan team in international tent pegging events as well. He is highly respected among equestrian circles of Pakistan as a bright star of the sports, who not only excels in it but also makes concerted efforts for its preservation and promotion, being our cultural heritage. Besides tent pegging and horse dance, Sultan Bahadar Aziz is an off road jeep rally enthusiast. As member of Team Sultan, he has participated in all national level championships. Coming to motor sports in 2012, he has many achievements to his credit in very short span.

Sultan Bahadar Aziz is 10th Descendent of great Sufi Saint Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo, whose forefathers migrated from Medina to Khurasaan and later came to the Valley of Soon Sakesar in Distt Khushab. Hadhrat Bazid Muhammad (R.A), Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo’s father, was a pious man and a military commander in Mughal army. In recognition of Hadhrat Bazid’s exceptional gallantry and valiance during a military expedition, mayor of Multan awarded him large landholdings. Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo and his descendants had massive contributions in religious, social, cultural and literary spheres of life in the Sub-continent. Hadhrat Sultan Bahoo authored more than one hundred & forty books on mysticism for promotion of true and pacifistic message of Islam, love and peace, self-purgation and self-ascension, social justice and equality in the society. His Punjabi Poetry commonly known as Abyat and popular for rhyme of Hoo has not only been recited by every popular Sufi singer in Pakistan but has also been translated in many languages worldwide.

Hadhrat Sultan Abdul Aziz RA, the grandfather of Sultan Bahadar Aziz, continued with the lofty traditions of his forefathers in the realm of spirituality, individual and social reformation and also made laudable contributions in Pakistan Movement by actively siding with Quaid e Azam and ordered his disciples to fully participate in the movement. Father of Sultan Bahar Aziz, Sultan ul Faqr 6th, Hadhrat Sultan Muhammad Asghar Ali RA was a great Sufi and spiritual personality. Keeping in view contemporary challenges to mysticism and spiritualism, he founded a reformation movement and established Islahee Jamaat & Aalmi Tanzeem ul Arifeen to promote vision of his ancestors on modern and systematic lines. It has its presence throughout the country. Its preachers are actively engaged in educating people through character building and by imparting spiritual training for individual reformation, stability of Pakistan and progress of Muslim Ummah. Establishment of research based think tank MUSLIM Institute is also continuity of his vision.
